We strive to be an environmentally conscientious provider, reducing the ecological impact of our business activities. In line with widely accepted standards and international agreements, we commit to continually minimize our greenhouse gas emissions. 

As a Contract Research Organization (CRO), we recognize and actively manage our environmental responsibilities to have a positive impact on our patients, our stakeholders, the environment, and the communities we operate in. We believe this helps to ensure our long-term success as a company by contributing to a more sustainable business.

Scope

This statement applies to the entire Avania team and its affiliates, our employees, business partners and consultants acting on behalf of Avania. The provisions of this statement may be subject to amendments if required by local law or regulations, especially where these are more stringent.

Approach

  • Environmental Compliance: We adhere to all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards, continuously monitoring our operations to ensure compliance and striving for best practices in environmental management.
  • Continuous Improvement: We set standards and strive for continuous improvement in our Supplier Code of Conduct as we aim to achieve environmental standards with those, we conduct business.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: We value open dialogue with our stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and local communities, regarding environmental and sustainable matters. We actively seek feedback and collaboration to address concerns and identify opportunities for mutual benefit.

  • SMT Forums: Regular forums where senior management team leaders can discuss issues, provide feedback, and engage in meaningful dialogue with senior management. 
  • Representative Body: A works council (where applicable) representing the employees within that location ensuring that employees have a voice in some of the management and decision-making processes of the company. 
  • Surveys and Feedback Mechanisms: Periodic surveys and feedback channels to gauge employee sentiment, identify areas for improvement, and track progress. 
  • Training Programs: Training for both management and employees in effective communication, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving. 
  • Transparent Communication: Providing regular updates on company performance, strategic initiatives, and changes that impact employees, fostering a culture of transparency and trust. 
  • Social Committees: Establishing social committees with employee representatives to connect what we do as a business and bring awareness to diseases, treatments, and research by raising funds and volunteering.
